HDMI over CAT5E or CAT6 Extenders
Running HDMI over longer cable runs, through walls or in bars, restaurants or commercial establishments can be problematic at best. The solution is to use an HDMI over CAT5E or CAT6 extender. Traditionally these extenders required two CAT5E runs per display but newer extenders can run HDMI at to 40, 50 or 100 meters over a single cable.
New HDMI extenders:
HDMI over CAT5E or CAT6 to 40 Meters
HDMI over CAT6 with IR feedback to source, up to 50 MetersHDMI over CAT6 with HDBaseT support, and point to multi-point support
The last kit can be used as a standard point to point solution, but it also supports point to multi-point transmission. Start with the sender and receiver, and a 10/100 or Gigabit Ethernet switch. Connect the source to the transmitter and connect the transmitter the switch. Then connect the receiver to another switch port. Keep adding receivers as needed, up to 250 receivers. This is a nice simple way to distribute HDMI to multiple displays over single CAT5E or CAT6 cable runs! Perfect for restaurants, bars, electronic signage and more.
